Step 1
mix the strong flour in a bowl with the salt sugar and mixed spice. warm milk with butter until melted.Remove from the hit and add the mixed peel.Cool a little,then bit in a egg .

3-tip the dough onto a work surface.knock it back than shape into 12 equal size buns (90g each) .put the burn on a parchment line baking tray mleaving a little room between each.Cover with a clean damp tea towel or lightly oiled cling film.
Step 5
mix the plain flour with about 5 tsp water to make a thick paste.spoon into a piping bag with a 1 cm nozzle. pipe a line along each row of buns; repeat in the other direction to create crosses.bake for 20-25 minutes,until risen and golden.Melt the syrup in a pan then brush over the buns.Enjoy warm
