What's your food prep routine?

Hey everyone, my wife and I are currently preparing for a busy time at work and we don't want to get into the junk food trap. Does anyone here have a food prep routine that works for them? Like what are your best dishes to prepare (and maybe put in the freezer), what are your favorite healthy prep dishes? We both have access to a microwave at work, but we don't mind eating non-warm food as long as it's yummy =D

I would say use the meal planner in this app! It helps me so much when I'm batch cooking to work out when I will actually eat what I'm cooking and how many portions to make. Then I can work out if things need to be frozen or not. The meal planner has helped me so much with the logistic aspects of cooking on my days off for my work days. There's a few recipes I have which are definitely freezer friendly that I'll post below!

I love this okra stew. It's super healthy, easy to batch cook, and very freezer friendly! Easily microwaveable too.

This spaghetti Bolognese recipe is wonderfully bulked out with veggie goodness and again, very freezer friendly!

This may not be suitable for batch cooking or freezing, but it's wonderfully easy and would recommend for an evening when you fancy something gourmet but don't necessarily have the energy to get busy in the kitchen.

Finally, this one is wonderful for meal prepping and super delicious. Again, easily microwaveable and the recipe page gives some tips on meal prepping.

I often will just make 1 or two servings extra when I make freezable dinners, as my freezer is too small to prep on a large scale. I will then label and freeze the leftovers, and then when we don't have time to cook a lunch or a dinner we just eat one of the assorted meals in the freezer. Also helps, as most recipes are for 3-4 people, so its less math or overeating. Also, be realistic and keep some frozen pre-made foods around if you're like us, and know you're gonna get those cravings and you wish to not eat out (or in). Tikka masala freezes wonderfully, just reheat and top with some plain Greek yogurt, lime, and maybe cilantro if you want!
