Added a pinch of chilli flakes to enhance the flavour

Followed recipe but added 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2tsp turmeric and a pinch of chilli flakes. Lovely during the cold December period.

Deliciously thick and rich soup, perfect for a chilly and wet Autumn (Fall) day. I used smokey bacon as that was what I had in the fridge, but I think unsmoked bacon would have been a bit bland. A dash of chipotle hot sauce was delicious. You really will need 1.5 litres of stock as it's a thick soup.
