Slow cooker Swedish meatballs recipe

Instructions
Prep:20minCook:6h 40min
We've all heard of the famous IKEA meatballs... and these tasty little versions are about as close as you can get. We've got other Swedish meatball recipes that get 5-star reviews from our members and taste delicious. But what sets these ones apart is the fact that they're cooked in the slow cooker, meaning that you can prep, then set and forget. Why this is our favourite Swedish meatballs recipe The sauce in this recipe is made from scratch and features Worcestershire sauce (which gives that delicious savoury flavour that Swedish meatballs are famous for) and cream (to make it as rich and creamy as the sachet powder you get at IKEA. I've made a LOT of Swedish meatball sauce recipes and this is, hands down, the best one I've tried. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes for the full experience. Key ingredients in our slow cooker Swedish meatballs Pork and veal mince: not only gets the right flavour but also the right texture for Swedish meatballs Ground allspice: the only spice that will give that authentic taste! Beef stock: make sure you don't use vegetable or chicken - this is a key ingredient to achieve the right richness in this sauce. Worcestershire sauce: a powerhouse of flavour, this is the secret weapon to this sauce being the best. Cornflour: this helps you thicken the sauce because it doesn't happen naturally in the slow cooker like it does on the stovetop. Additional recipe notes by Rebecca Nittolo - Digital Editor
