Instant Pot Chicken & Rice

Like many others have said I kept getting the burn notice. We stirred it and added more liquid, but still kept getting the notice. By the time it was cooked it was practically porridge from all the excess liquid we had to add.

Food burned to the bottom of the pot, it needs more liquid maybe?

Overall, this recipe is good. The chicken is kind of bland. Next time I make it, I will cut up the chicken before cooking and season it separately.

This meal honestly just makes me sad. It's so close to being a meal and yet it tastes like nothing. If I had to guess what dog food tastes like this would probably be it :(

With these measurements the rice burned to the bottom of the instant pot and the chicken was raw. To add it had no flavor. Never again!

Far too much liquid for the recipe. Ended up turning out more like a gumbo or something. Doubled the spices and garlic after seeing others say it was bland and tasted good.

I felt like this was pretty bland in spite of my adding extra garlic etc.

Honestly it was pretty good. I just doubled the ingredients so it would be enough.

I made a couple changes since a lot of comments said it was bland. I doubled the spices listed, then also added basil and a tiny bit of chili and then some crushed red pepper. I also added some halved grape tomatoes. It was good, a tad spicy and decent flavor. It was simple but that's what I was looking for - a simple, easy dinner.

A little bland for my taste, but just throw in more spices. Great for throwing on some taco shells with cheese, pico, and salsa! I also used 2 cups of rice with a little over 2.25 cups of stock.

Need to figure out the water ratio. With the current one, my rice got soft but it had some liquid left

I guess my chicken wasn't 100% thawed bc I had to add 5 more minutes of cook time. The rice was almost non existent, kinda just turned to mush. Bland and boring.

Didn't follow cooking instructions, as someone else mentioned, I sautéed the garlic and onion first then the carrots and bell peppers, then made room for the chicken and make sure it was all seared and seasoned, then finally added the stock and rice.

Tasty! I'll probably add a little extra spice next time but this was fast, easy, and really good.

Didn't love the fresh parsley in it so I'll probably omit that next time.

Its turned out ok it was very bland though. Overall not bad.

I have an 8 qt IP. I doubled the rice, added 4 cups of chicken broth, did not rinse my rice, and layered my IP as such: saute onion/garlic/seasonings lightly, add other veggies, seasoned chicken breasts, Rotel, and rice on top. The rice was perfectly cooked, dish was a little soup-y, but I just removed the lid and set it to saute to let some of it evaporated

Read all the reviews so I added extra vegetables, spices, and broth. The taste was okay. The rice wasn't cooked after 20 minutes so I added another 4 minutes and it burnt. Okay taste but not good enough to make again.

Soooo nice. I added an extra stock cube for more flavouring and more water as the rice was still undercooked in the end. Also added yellow capsicum as well as the red (can’t really see the red capsicum or carrot in this photo). Made a vegetarian version for myself and it turned out amazing. Definitely my new go-to way to make rice, we had it as the main dish tonight but would be perfect as a side dish as well. I took the picture before adding the parsley.

I added: Chicken seasoning/All purpose to chicken. Kale - Just had in the fridge Spring onions - didn’t have onions X6 Garlic bulbs Maybe add chilli flakes for a little kick I didn’t measure the rice so I ruined it - I got the ‘burn’ light. So, I had to transfer the rice to a pot and grilled the chicken. Shredded chicken once cooked through and mixed in with rice. Worked out pretty ok, luckily. Would definitely try again but will follow the rice measurements :)

Kinda bland but I think I'll add some salsa.

Pretty boring but started to grow on me as I kept eating it. I threw a can of diced tomatoes with green peppers in it, which added a little extra flavor and spice.

Was easy to make. Did add a can of diced tomatoes like some of the reviews.

Adding a bit of chicken bullion for salt makes this dish tastier. At first I wasn't very impressed, but if you add some lime or use trader Joe's chili lime seasoning, it really makes this recipe sing.
