1 tablespoonAvocado Oil
Olive Oil or Avocado Oil

12 ozChicken Sausage
sliced, I used Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage

4cloves garlic
minced

1 cupOrzo Pasta
dry

¾ cupchicken broth

2 cupsMarinara Sauce
homemade or jarred

½ cupMozzarella Cheese
Low Moisture, shredded

½ cupParmesan Cheese
shredded, additional to serve

¼ cupfresh basil

½ teaspoononion powder

½ teaspoondried oregano

½ teaspoondried basil

½ teaspoonred pepper flakes

Kosher Salt

Black Pepper
to taste
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Step 2
Heat oil in a large oven-safe skillet set over medium heat. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook for 5 minutes. Flip a few times to cook both sides.
Step 3
Add minced garlic and orzo and cook for 2 minutes until lightly toasted and fragrant, stirring often.
Step 4
Add chicken broth, tomato sauce, and all seasonings. Stir all ingredients together and let it come to a boil.
Step 5
Once boiling, add a lid and lower temperature to a simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Top with the mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Bake for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 7
Serve immediately with fresh basil and parmesan cheese.
