Instructions

Step 1
1. Put 1 tablespoon of black glutinous rice ( AKA black sweet rice) in the rice measuring cup that comes with your rice cooker (1 rice measuring cup = 0.75 cup).
Step 2
2. Fill the rest of the cup with medium grain white rice, which will be 11 tablespoons.
Step 3
3. Pour into inner pot of rice cooker.
Step 4
4. Wash with cold water and drain at least 3 times. Discard any empty black glutinous rice shells that float to the top during washing.
Step 5
5. Add 1.25 cup of cold water to rice. Adjust water according to your rice cooker. (Basically, add the amount of water you would normally for white rice. The ratio is about 1 part rice : 1 to 1.25 part water, depending on your rice cooker)
Step 6
6. Put inner pot in rice cooker. Select “white rice” setting. Press “Start”.
Step 7
7. It takes my rice cooker 60 minutes to finish cooking. I prefer the regular white rice setting over the quick cook setting. Enjoy!
