This is a simplified version of tarte tatin, where instead of making our own caramel we use maple syrup! This easy tarte tatin recipe can be whipped up in 20 minutes. The perfect recipe when you need dessert asap! I’ve been loving puff pastry since trying out the upside down puff pastry trend and I’m thinking the trend must have originated from this classic French dish You can probably tell by my face that after I flipped the tarte I thought it was a fail because one piece of the banana got stuck to the pan 😂 I gave up at that moment and then 5 minutes later decided it actually looked okay and I could easily peel the banana off the pan and stick it back where it belongs. Ended up looking gorggg Save this super easy dessert recipe and send it to a sweet tooth!

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 200C
Step 2
Pour the maple syrup into an approx 24cm oven safe pan then sprinkle with the sea salt
Step 3
Slice the bananas in half then lay them flat side down in the pan
Step 4
Cut the puff pastry into a circle and place that over the bananas. Gently pat it down to seal it.
Step 5
Brush the melted butter on top and then bake in the oven for 15 minutes
Step 6
When removing the pan from the oven, don’t be like me and forget (twice) that the handle is super hot
Step 7
Lay baking paper over the tarte, then a board as seen in the video, and flip over to reveal caramelised banana!
Step 8
Serve with cream or ice cream and a sprinkle of icing sugar and enjoy ❤️
