Step 1
Preheat oven to 220°C / 200°C (fan). Cut the potatoes into chips. Add to oiled tray with pinch of salt and pepper for 30mins
Step 2
Cut cucumber into quarters lengthways and add half to cider vinegar with pinch of salt and sugar. The other half is for later.
Step 3
Finely slice onion and fry medium-high with salt and sugar with water for 6-7mins until soft.
Step 4
Meanwhile add sausages to oven for 25mins.
Step 5
Once onions have softened, stir in 1/3 of the ketchup and cook for 1-2 more mins.
Step 6
Grate the cheese and slit buns across the top. Remove baking tray, push chips into piles and add cheese. Add the buns to the tray and return to the oven for 2-3mins.
Step 7
Add hot dogs to the buns, top with sweet onions, ketchup and mustard. Serve with cheesy fries and gherkins.
