Instructions

Preparing the mince

Step 1
Fine chop the onions & fry until golden brown. add the cardamom pods. Then add the beef mince and brown it. Add the curry powder, garam masala, chilli, salt ginger & garlic and mix well. Then empty into the slow cooker pot.

Adding the vegetables

Step 2
Peel and dice the potatoes into 10mm chunks then add to the pot. Grate the carrots and add in and do the same with the peas. Add the 2 tins of tomatoes and water then stir well and cover.

Cooking

Step 3
Cook on high for a minimum or 6 hours. Remove the lid or place a cloth under the lid for the last 1/2 hour. Taste before serving, adjust flavours if you need to. We added a Tbsp sugar to ours to sweeten the dish because tinned tomatoes can be a bit acidic. This meal is better left and reheated the next day.

Serving suggestion

Step 4
We added some pilau rice and a naan bread. We dressed the curry with some fresh coriander. Beef can be substituted for Pork or Lamb mince.
