Step 1
In an oven safe pot add boneless beef steaks, season with salt, cumin powder, garam masala, coriander powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub it all over.
Step 2
Add garlic cloves, chillies, onions and sprigs of thyme.
Step 3
Pour water , Cover and let it slowly cook in the oven for a couple of hours until the meat is falling apart.
Step 4
Remove from oven and let it rest 15 minutes before opening the lid.
Step 5
Remove sprigs and chillies.
Step 6
Shred with fork and add tomato purée.
Step 7
Simmer for another 5-10 minutes until all water dries up .
Step 8
Transfer to the bowl and let it cool completely.
Step 9
Take puff pastry sheets and cut in squares.
Step 10
Place one piece of pastry , add filling, brush with beaten egg on sides , add mozzarella cheese, place another square of puff pastry on top and seal the edges with a fork.
Step 11
Make it slits on top (this will help to puff and cheese will not ooze out) , brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds (optional).
Step 12
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 30-35 minutes.
Step 13
Tip: Don’t open the oven door until top is golden brown. Otherwise it will not puff nicely.
Step 14
Take out from oven and serve immediately.
