Chinese Dumplings

4 steps
Prep:5hCook:15min
Chinese dumplings! Our Chinese friend Troy taught us initially how to make the filling, and we have adjusted the recipe over the years (switching out the meat from pork to chicken/ground turkey, and adding more garlic and ginger, for example) in effort to make them more healthy and flavorful. To save time, we began to buy the dumpling wrappers from our local Asian Market rather than making the dough.

Instructions

Step 1
Using food processor, ground chicken. Mix with ground turkey in bowl. Prepare green onion, garlic and ginger. Add in all ingredients. Blend all ingredients, cover and allow to marinate in refrigerator at least 1 hour or overnight.
Step 2
Set aside a small bowl of water and create a clean surface to make dumplings. Set aside a baking sheet (will set dumplings on there to stick in freezer before freezing in bags). Place a spoonful of filling in center of dumpling dip finger in water and touch edge of dumpling wrapper with water. Seal edges (make wavy). Ensure well sealed. Repeat until baking sheet filled. Place in freezer for at least 2 hrs.
Step 3
Place 16 frozen dumplings in each ziplock bag. Repeat process until all dumplings made, frozen and placed in baggies. (If you do not freeze before putting in ziplock bags, dumplings will stick to each other and come apart).
Step 4
To cook, pan fry frozen dumplings directly in skillet until browned and crispy. Once browned, cover bottom of skillet with water and allow to boil for 3-5 min. Drain water and serve with soy sauce!
