Step 1
Finely crush the garlic and slice the onions

Heat a cooker and ghee, crushed garlic and saute till garlic colour changes then add asafoetido
Step 3
Add onions and saute till becomes translucent
Step 4
Add spices mentioned (coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt) saute for another 1 min
Step 5
Add washed dal and rice and in a ratio 1:3 for dal:water add kasoori methi
Step 6
Pressure cook for 2 whistle in high flame and 5 mins in low flame
