Instructions

Step 1
Mix butter, sugar, and vanilla thoroughly. Stir flour and salt together in a separate bowl; blend in. Mix in nuts. Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
Step 2
Heat oven to 400°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 3
Roll dough into 1 inch balls, pressing together dry dough. Place on cookie sheet. The cookies do not spread, so they can be tightly spaced. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until set but not brown.
Step 4
While still warm, roll in confectioner's sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again.
