Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Spray an 8 inch springform pan with Pam or butter it.
Step 3
Peel and slice pears lengthwise into 6-8 pieces

Cream together the butter, sugar, and vanilla
Step 5
Add eggs one at a time
Step 6
combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl, then add to the butter mixture
Step 7
Spread batter on the bottom of the springform pan
Step 8
In a pinwheel pattern, press the slices of pear, peeled side up, into the batter. Cram in as many as you can since the batter rises and covers the pears.
Step 9
Bake for one hour and check for doneness with fork/toothpick.
