Step 1
Add butter to a large, wide pot. Add and sear beef and cook for about 5 minutes
Step 2
Remove beef, and add chopped onions. Saute until translucent or slightly caramelized. Deglaze with a bit of water, broth, red wine, or rice wine.
Step 3
Add all remaining ingredients and stir well. Turn up heat to a simmering boil and cover for 30 minutes. Serve with rice or simply as a stew.
