Instructions

Step 1
Sear the ground beef (no oil added). Add diced onions, minced garlic. Season with ground pepper and salt. At this point your beef might have released its juice and fat, let it reduce in the pan.
Step 2
Add in all the seasoning: ground cumin, creole powder seasoning, oregano, and crushed red peppers. mix altogether
Step 3
Add a can of tomato sauce. mix together then add chopped jalapeno
Step 4
Prepare store bought pie crust. Lightly flour your bench and start portioning and cutting circles on the dough.
Step 5
Assemble: put a spoonful of the filling and add grted cheddar cheese and monterey jack cheese. Brush the dough perimeter with water to help seal the dough. Crimp the edges.
Step 6
Place all the empanadas on a lined tray. Brush with egg wash. Bake in preheated 425F for 15mins.
