Korean Side Dish Series Part 6. Braised Potatoes Who doesn’t like potatoes? It’s even better when it’s savory & sweet! With only a few simple ingredients, you can easily make this addicting side dish.

Instructions

Step 1
Bring a pot of water to boil.
Step 2
Add salt and potatoes. Cook till soft over medium heat, about 12 -15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Step 3
Drain potatoes and set aside to dry for a couple of minutes.
Step 4
In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Pan fry potatoes till golden brown, about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Step 5
Mix soy sauce, sugar, garlic, sesame oil and water.
Step 6
Pour sauce over potatoes. Cook for about 5 minutes or till sauce is condensed.
Step 7
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Step 8
Notes: Ok to use your favorite kind of potatoes. Cut into bite size if needed. I used baby potatoes in the video. Also, peeling is optional.
Step 9
Boiling time may vary, depending on the size/ kind of potatoes. If needed, insert a toothpick to check doneness. Toothpick should easily pierce through.
