Crock Pot Guiness Beef Stew

Instructions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium high heat.
Step 2
Spray a 7 quart crock pot with nonstick spray. Add the stew meat, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley to a gallon storage bag and toss together until the meat is completely coated in flour. In the pan, sear the meat on both sides. Add to the crock pot.
Step 3
Pour 1/4 of the guiness into the hot pan and scrape the bottom. Pour into the crockpot over the meat. Also add in the onion, potatoes, celery, carrots, thyme, bay leaves, the rest of the Guinness, tomato paste and the beef broth.
Step 4
Cover and cook on low 7 hours.
Step 5
*If you want to thicken the broth more, mix together 2 tbsp cornstarch and cold water and add to the stew at the end
