Slow Cooked Caramelized Onions

Caramelized onions are simple and delicious, but take a while with often stirring on the stove. I've done them in a slow cooker here, so you can let them go all day, and check on them every hour or so. Caramelized Onions are great on nearly everything, give it a go

Instructions
Step 1
Slice all your onions, and add to a large slow cooker. Season, and mix, making sure to separate the onions from other layers

Step 2
Cover and cook on high for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally. Reglaze with some white wine if needed
Step 3
Transfer to a small container and store in the fridge (or freeze for later use)
Step 4
I made these onions into a French Onion dip, mixing it with a cup (226 g) of whipped nonfat cottage cheese. It's a good dip for carrots, or on a slice of toast
