Instructions

Step 1
Dice bread into croutons, bake at 200°F for 1 hour. Can set aside in bag or airtight container after this step for several days.
Step 2
Saute veggies until just tender. Cook them long enough so the carrots and celery soften. This makes a big difference.
Step 3
Put croutons in a baking dish.
Step 4
Melt butter and add good amount of poultry seasoning and other herbs of choice.
Step 5
Pour herbed butter over bread crumbs and toss them to evenly coat, as much as possible.
Step 6
Add sauteed veggies to croutons in pan and mix/toss. (If making ahead, stop here.)
Step 7
Pour broth over the whole recipe. This will take most or all of a 32oz carton.
Step 8
Toss/stir to moisten all croutons evenly.
Step 9
Bake at 350° for at least 30 minutes (longer may be better).
