Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl add 4.5 tsp yeast 1tsp sugar and 2 cups WARM water . Mix well and let yeast activate about 5-10 minutes .
Step 2
Add 2 beaten eggs , 1/2 cup oil , 1 tsp salt and 1 cup sugar . Mix well before adding flour
Step 3
Add 3 cups flour , mix then add remaining 3.5 cups . Use your electric mixer to knead for around 5 minutes until a sticky dough ball forms .
Step 4
Remove from mixing bowl ( adding flour to your hand makes it easier to remove from hook . Should be very soft . Place dough in a greased bowl covered and let rise in a warm place around 1 hour .
Step 5
After the rising period remove from bowl and divide into balls . Depending on how many loaves you want to make . This recipe can make 4 small loaves . 3 medium or 2 very large . All depends on the size you want . In my video I did 3 loaves which required me to need 9 balls ( 3 for each loaf braided ) Roll out into long skinny rolls and begin to braid . Once your loaves are ready . Place the braided loaves onto parchment paper . Let rise for around 30-45 minutes while you pre heat oven to 350 F . Brush with egg wash and top with sesame seeds ( optional ) Bake for around 20-25 minutes depending on how many loaves you make . Once it starts to brown it’s done . Let rest for 15-20 and enjoy with butter :)
