Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Then line a baking sheet with a silpat or parchment paper.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, egg yolk, sugar, vanilla and almond flavoring. If you are using an electric or stand mixer, mix on medium to high speed for 2 minutes or until all of your ingredients are well incorporated. You can store this mixture in the fridge while you work on your pastries.
Step 3
Unfold puff pastry on powder sugar dusted surface. Gently roll with a rolling pin to even out dough.
Step 4
Using a 4” heart cookie cutter, cut 4 hearts out of each sheet. (8 total)
Step 5
Place hearts on baking sheet and use a 2.5 heart (or you can score freehand with a paring knife) gently press to create outline of smaller heart.
Step 6
Place a large dollop of the cream cheese filling in the center and brush the rims with egg whites. Then place in the oven for 22 mins or until golden brown.
Step 7
Remove from oven and allow to cool, garnish with 2-3 fresh raspberries and dust with powder sugar!
