Instructions

Step 1
Marinate the Chicken: Season chicken fillets lightly with salt, pepper, and cajun powder. Place the chicken fillets in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let them marinate in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Prepare the Fries: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut 6 medium-sized potatoes into fries. Season the fries generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, cajun powder, and a drizzle of vegetable oil. Spread them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 40 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
Step 3
Coat and fry the Chicken: In a bowl or plate, mix 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour and 1/2 cup of cornflour. Coat each chicken fillet in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully covered. Fry the coated chicken fillets in the pan for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 4
Hot Honey Glaze: While the chicken is frying, mix 1/4 cup of honey, 1 tablespoon of sriracha sauce, and 1/2 tablespoon of soy sauce in a pan over low heat. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly. Once the chicken is done, dip each fried chicken fillet into the hot honey glaze, ensuring they are fully coated. Place the glazed fillets in the pan for a quick sear, allowing the glaze to caramelize. Flip and repeat.
Step 5
Preparing and Assembling the Burger: Slice the 2 brioche buns in half. Spread a bit of premade burger sauce and add a slice of cheddar on each bun. Slide them into the oven for 1-2 minutes or until the cheddar melts and becomes gooey.
Step 6
Complete the Burger: Place a lettuce leaf on the sauced bun. Add a hot honey-glazed chicken fillet on top. Top with the other half of the brioche bun. Press down gently to let all the flavors meld together. Serve them hot with the oven-baked fries and enjoy the sweet, spicy, and savory goodness in every bite!
