Meatball Toasties is a simple but elegant appetizer idea you will love! Hearty meat bakes onto the bread, topping with marinara and mozzarella cheese!

Instructions

Step 1
Mix one pound of ground beef and a teaspoon of garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, and kosher salt in a large bowl. Add half a teaspoon of black pepper, two eggs, half a cup of ricotta cheese, and half a cup of breadcrumbs.
Step 2
Slice your bread on the bias, and using a spreading knife, spread one tablespoon of the mixture onto each slice. (You might end up with extra meat; either make it into meatballs to enjoy later or slice some more bread!)
Step 3
Lay the meat + bread pieces on a baking sheet and drizzle with two tablespoons of olive oil.
Step 4
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Remove the baking tray from the oven, then spoon marinara over each toasty and a slice of fresh mozzarella.
Step 6
Return the baking tray to the oven and bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. You can use your broiler, but please watch carefully!
