Instructions

Step 1
Prepare the Biscuit Mix Start by making the Cheddar Bay biscuit mix according to the package directions. Once prepared, set it aside to rest while you prepare the crab filling.
Step 2
Preheat and Prep Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray two muffin tins with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
Step 3
Prepare the Crab Filling In a mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat with paprika, onion powder, mustard, mayonnaise, and crushed Ritz crackers. Stir well to ensure all are thoroughly incorporated. Adjust the consistency with additional mayonnaise if needed.
Step 4
Form the Biscuit Cups Dust your hands with flour to prevent sticking. Using a scoop, take some biscuit mix and form it into a cup shape in your hand. Place a scoop of the prepared crab mixture into the center of the biscuit cup.
Step 5
Encase with Biscuit Dough Cover the crab filling with a little more biscuit dough, sealing the edges to encase the filling completely. Repeat this process until all the dough and crab filling have been used.
Step 6
Bake Carefully place each filled biscuit into the prepared muffin trays. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Step 7
Add the Finishing Touch While the biscuits are baking, prepare the lemon butter glaze by mixing melted butter with lemon juice. Once the biscuits are done, brush them generously with the lemon butter glaze for an extra burst of flavor.
Step 8
Serve and Enjoy Allow the Crab Stuffed Cheddar Bay Biscuits to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm for the ultimate indulgence.
Step 9
Serving Tips
Step 10
Garnish with Fresh Herbs Sprinkle chopped parsley or dill over the Crab Stuffed Cheddar Bay Biscuits just before serving for a pop of color and added freshness.
Step 11
Serve with Dipping Sauces Offer dipping sauces such as garlic aioli, tartar sauce, or sweet chili sauce on the side for an extra layer of flavor and variety.
Step 12
Create a Platter Arrange the biscuits on a serving platter with lemon wedges and additional melted butter for guests to customize their experience.
Step 13
Refrigeration Store any leftover Crab Stuffed Cheddar Bay Biscuits in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
Step 14
Reheating To reheat, place the biscuits on a baking sheet and warm them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
Step 15
Freezing While these biscuits are best enjoyed fresh, you can freeze them for longer storage. Place the cooled biscuits in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container. They can be stored in the freezer for up to 1 month.
Step 16
Thawing When ready to enjoy, thaw the frozen biscuits overnight in the refrigerator. Reheat as instructed above before serving.
Step 17
2. Can I prepare the crab filling in advance? Yes, you can prepare the crab filling ahead of time and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. This allows you to save time on the day of baking. However, it’s essential to keep the filling properly chilled to maintain food safety standards. Let the filling come to room temperature before using it to fill the biscuits.
Step 18
4. Can I freeze the baked biscuits for later consumption? While it’s best to enjoy these biscuits fresh for optimal taste and texture, you can freeze any leftover baked biscuits for later consumption. Allow them to cool completely, then wrap them individually in plastic wrap and place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. Frozen biscuits can be stored in the freezer for up to one month. To reheat, thaw them overnight in the refrigerator and warm them in a preheated oven until heated through.
