Chicken Parmesan Baked Casserole

This is a relatively easy "dump and bake" Chicken Parmesan casserole that is delicious and takes less than an hour to prepare.

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Step 2
Empty Fusilli pasta into a casserole baking dish (at least 2 inches deep).

Pour 24 oz. Jar of marinara sauce into the dish with the pasta.

Step 4
Fill your marinara sauce jar with water and pour the water into the dish. Gently stir with utensil to distribute uniformly around the baking dish.

Step 5
Cut chicken breast with scissors or knife into 1 or 1 1/2 inch pieces and place into the dish with the pasta and liquid. Season chicken pieces uniformly with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. (The seasoning can be done inside the baking dish)


Step 6
Cover with a lid or aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Step 7

Remove the baking dish from the oven and uncover.
Step 8
Take the dried basil seasoning and sprinkle it on the chicken in the dish.
Step 9
Gently stir the hot pasta and chicken mixture if needed to distribute uniformly.
Step 10
Cover the top of the casserole uniformly with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Step 11
Generously cover the mozzarella cheese layer with panko bread crumbs. Drizzle a little melted butter over the bread crumbs to help develop a nice crust on the top layer.
Step 12
Add Parmesan cheese to the top, especially to the corners and sides of the casserole. Add a little more Panko crumbs if you would like.
Step 13
Place the casserole uncovered in the oven for 15 minutes at 425 degrees. When top starts to develop a nice golden color.

Step 14
Pull hot casserole out of the oven and add Italian parsley to the top of the casserole for fresh a finishing touch.
