Instructions

Step 1
Coat bottom of a big pot with oil. Brown meat over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Add chopped onion and garlic until onion is tender (It will look translucent. ). Drain the oil from the pan.
Step 3
Return to medium heat and add tomato products, herbs, salt, pepper, and sugar. If wanting a thinner sauce, add a glass of water to the pot. Stir until combined.
Step 4
Cover reduce heat to low, and simmer for 3 hours, stirring every 20 minutes.
Step 5
If not making a meat sauce, start be sautéing onions and garlic over medium heat in olive oil.
