Instructions
Step 1
Mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, and 1/2 cup softened butter until creamy (about 2 minutes).

Add 1 egg and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, then mix again.

In another bowl, combine 1½ cups flour, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

Gradually add this flour mixture to the butter mixture, then stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.

If the dough is too soft, chill the dough in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking trays with parchment paper.

Scoop dough onto the trays, leaving 3 inches (7.5 cm) of space between each cookie.

Chill the dough on the trays for 30 to 40 minutes.
