Instructions

Step 1
Slice your onions
Step 2
Make sure they are dried.
Step 3
Combine the flour, seasonings, and enough hot water to mix it up into a thick liquid batter.
Step 4
Prepare a large frying pan on the stove and begin heating with an inch of vegetable oil over medium high heat.
Step 5
Begin dipping the onion rings into the batter and making sure they are evenly coated on both sides with batter, then drip and flip them into the panko and then straight to the hot frying pan.
Step 6
These cook very quickly so have a plate close to the stove with a layer of napkins and a pair of tongs to both flip the onion rings over in the pan and remove promptly once they are fried an even golden brown on both sides.
Step 7
Place individually on plate with napkins once they are done to absorb excess oil.
Step 8
Once you have a full plate salt and pepper to taste and serve promptly with your favorite dipping sauce.
