Whilst boiled potatoes sit at the top of the satiety index, they are not particularly exciting. This recipe for colcannon - an Irish dish of mashed potato and cabbage seems much more indulgent however it is still low in energy dense and will keep you fuller for longer.

Instructions
Step 1
Chop up the potatoes and transfer them to a saucepan of slightly salted boiling water. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until the potatoes are soft. Meanwhile, grate the cabbage and finely chop the onion. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat then add the onions. Cook for around 5 minutes then add the cabbage and a tablespoon of water. Season with a sprinkle of salt, stir well and cook for a further 5 to 10 minutes until the cabbage has fully softened.
Drain the potatoes, then tip them back into the saucepan with the milk, creme fraiche and mustard. Mash up the potatoes until you have a smooth mixture then add the cabbage and onions. Mix well and add a little water and extra seasoning if required.
