Instructions

Step 1
COMBINING INGREDIENTS: In 1 large bowl, preferably aluminum or something light (you’ll see why), combine flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda together. In 2nd large bowl combine Vegetable shortening, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and white granulated sugar. INCORPORATING INGREDIENTS: Picking up the 1st bowl with your dry mixture, slowly fold and mix into wet mixture bowl. Please make sure you aren’t adding dry ingredients at once, when your dough becomes too dry add in 1 Large Egg and continue folding dry ingredients in. Close to the end when you have most of the dry ingredients incorporated add in the last large egg, and top off by adding in the remaining dry ingredients. BAKING INSTRUCTIONS: Pre-heat oven to 350 Fahrenheit or 177 C On a parchment lined baking sheet roll dough balls 2 inches wide and place evenly on baking sheet, please remember that the dough will rise and spread so make adequate room on the tray. I personally use 2-3 trays for this recipe After your oven has reached the desired temperature place 1 baking tray in oven and let bake for 14-16 minutes or until golden and crispy. After cookies have been taken out of oven allow to cool in a well ventilated area, and enjoy!! RECIPE NOTES: Hello! I hope you read these notes incase any troubles have arisen with any step in the recipe. OVEN: I usually use 2-3 baking trays to bake my cookies, I can usually fit 12/16 cookies on each tray with adequate space. Oven temperatures vary, your oven might run hot we’re as mine runs a little colder. Baking times may vary, just make sure that the cookies are golden brown before taking them out of the oven. INGREDIENTS: If your mixture is too dry, try adding another egg or more vanilla extract If your mixture is too wet, slowly add in more flour.
