Momma's Granola
Melt in large pot over low heat, stirring:
1½ cup butter
1/2 cup vegetable oil (or coconut oil)
1½ cup water
1/2 cup white sugar (or honey)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Remove from heat. Mix in:
1 cup nuts (cashews, pecans, walnuts)
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1 cup shredded coconut (optional)
1/2 cup whole wheat flour (or ground oats)
1/2 cup white flour (or almond flour)
5 cups whole or rolled oats (not instant)
Spread on cookie sheet and bake in 350 F oven for 30 minutes, stirring 3-4 times (you want it a golden brown). Remove and let cool. Then add 1 cup raisins or dried cranberries.
