Do one layer of bread, cheese, and ham, reserving one and a half cups of cheese for the top. Do second layer of bread, cheese, and ham. Top with remaining bread and one and a half cups of cheese. Bake at 350 covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for 30 minutes more.
