Instructions

Cook the Chicken

Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or deep pan over medium heat.
Step 2
Season the diced chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Step 3
Add the chicken to the pan and cook for about 5-6 minutes until browned and fully cooked. Remove chicken and set aside.

Cook Pasta and Sauce

Step 4
In the same pan, add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 5
Add the marinara sauce, chicken broth, and uncooked pasta. Stir to combine.
Step 6
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.

Combine and Add Cheese

Step 7
Return the cooked chicken to the pan and stir to combine everything.
Step 8
Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top. Cover the pan for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Optional Crunchy Topping

Step 9
If desired, sprinkle panko breadcrumbs over the melted cheese. Broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the breadcrumbs are golden and crispy.

Serve

Step 10
Garnish with fresh basil, if using, and serve immediately.
