Instructions
Prepare the Chicken
Step 1
Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 3
Add the chicken skin-side down and cook for 6-8 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
Step 4
Flip the chicken, reduce heat to medium, and cook for another 10-12 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (check near the bone).
Step 5
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
Boil the Gnocchi
Step 6
While the chicken is cooking, bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
Step 7
Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions (usually 2-3 minutes, until most of them float).

Step 8
Drain well and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Crisp the Gnocchi
Step 9
In the same skillet used for the chicken, add 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat.
Step 10
Add the boiled gnocchi and cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes, until golden and slightly crispy.
Step 11
Toss and cook for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
Step 12
Lower the heat to medium-low and add 1 tbsp butter to the pan.
Step 13
Stir in the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 14
Add 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, scraping up any browned bits from the pan for extra flavor.
Step 15
If the pan looks too dry, add a splash of water or broth (if available) to loosen the sauce.
Combine Everything
Step 16
Return the crispy gnocchi to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
Step 17
Slice or shred the cooked chicken off the bone and add it back to the skillet.
Step 18
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, stirring everything together so the cheese melts into the sauce.
Step 19
Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper if needed.
Garnish & Serve
Step 20
Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley and basil for a fresh, aromatic finish.
Step 21
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes & Tips:
Step 22
If you want more sauce, you can add a splash of chicken broth or white wine while making the garlic butter sauce.
Step 23
If using skinless chicken thighs, reduce the cooking time slightly.
Step 24
For extra richness, finish with a drizzle of olive oil or a little more butter before serving.
