This recipe is the GOAT. I've been baking it for almost 20 years and everyone asks for the recipe. I've also made some variations to change up the flavor, specifically because I hate chocolate cookies. Raisins and oat rules!

Instructions
Step 1
* In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Step 2
* In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract, then the egg and egg yolk, mixing until well combined. *
Step 3
Gradually add the dry ingredients (flour mixture) to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 4
* Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Step 5
* Bake at 180°C for 15 minutes.
Variations
Step 6
Raisin and Oats: Replace 1/2 cup of flour with 1/2 cup of rolled oats. * Substitute raisins for chocolate chips.
Step 7
Peanut butter Chocolate: Substitute 3/4 cup of butter for 1/2 cup butter (113g) ; 1/2 cup peanut butter (120g).
