Instructions
Prepare the chicken
Step 1
Start by removing the giblets and neck from the cavity. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels, both inside and out, and remove any excess fat.

Chop the chicken into pieces
Sear the chicken
Step 3
Season the chicken with salt and pepper then heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium to high heat. Brown the chicken pieces on all sides.
Slow cook
Step 4
Transfer to a slow cooker. Add all the other ingredients, then cook on low for 6-8 hours until the meat pulls apart when pressed with two forks.
