Method (Using Ninja Health Grill XL)
Step 2
Prep onions & sausages
Step 3
In a bowl, toss the onion wedges with balsamic vinegar and pinch of salt & pepper.
Step 4
Prick sausages a few times for even cooking.
Step 5
Grill stage 1: Veg & sausages
Step 6
Preheat your Ninja Grill to High Grill (150–185 °C / 302–365 °F) for about 5 minutes.
Step 7
Spread onions in the grill basket, arrange sausages on top.
Step 8
Grill for 15 minutes, shaking basket halfway so onions cook evenly and sausages brown all around.
Step 9
Add gravy ingredients
Step 10
Carefully pour in the beef stock and Worcestershire sauce over the onions and sausages.
Step 11
Close the lid.
Step 12
Grill stage 2: Finish sauce
Step 13
Continue grilling for another 5–8 minutes, until onions are soft and sauce has thickened into a rich gravy.
Step 14
Rest briefly & serve
Step 15
Let everything rest for a minute.
Step 16
Serve with creamy mash and tender green beans.
Step 17
Tips
Step 18
If your grill tends to smoke, consider lining the basket with a small sheet of non-stick foil (poked with holes), or using a removable tray.
Step 19
For a deeper caramelisation on the onions, run an extra 2–3 minutes at the end on High Grill with the lid open.
Step 20
Want extra zing? Add a knob of butter or a splash of cream to the gravy after grilling, or finish with fresh thyme.
