Vanilla Almond Milk

Instructions

Step 1
Put the almonds in a large bowl and cover with water. Let them sit for 4 hours.
Step 2
Drain the almonds and discard the water they soaked in. Rinse them well under cold water
Step 3
Add them to a blender with 4 cups filtered water. Blend at high speed for about 3 minutes or until the almonds are fully broken down and nice and creamy
Step 4
Line a large bowl with a nut milk bag. Pour the almond milk into the bag over the bowl. To strain the pulp, squeeze the bag to release all of the liquid. Discard the pulp or use it in another recipe (you can dry the pulp and use as almond meal). Add the vanilla and salt to the bowl, stir, and pour into an airtight container or jug. Store the almond milk in the refrigerator. Stir each time before use.
