Refrigerator pickles will keep1 month in refrigerator. I don't like mine too sweet and use 1 1/2 tbsp sugar but you can use up to 3 tbsp sugar for a bread and butter style pickle. If you use jalapeno peppers, keep,in mind that the pickles will get spicier as they age.

Ingredients

1cucumber
depending on size, use 2 if small

1 cupwater

½ cupapple cider vinegar

½ cupwhite wine vinegar

1 ½ Tbspsugar

⅛ cupsalt

4 sprigsdill
or more if you want

2 tspdried spices
such as black peppercorns, red pepper flakes, coriander, mustard seed, celery seed

2 clovesgarlic
peeled and cut in half
6 slicesjalapeno seeded pepper
optional

3 slicesvidalia onions
Instructions
Step 1
Bring water to a boil and add sugar and salt. Stir to melt, then add vinegars.
Step 2
Place sliced cucumbers in 16oz mason jars, placing jalapenos, dill, onions and garlic between layers. Top with dried spices and pour warm vinegar water mixture on top. Refrigerate for a few hours or a full day before you consume your nice crunchy pickles.
