Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, add the milk, egg, and instant yeast, then give them a good whisk until well combined and add the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. Continue to mix them together until incorporated and a dough forms, then cover it with plastic or a towel and set it aside for about 20 minutes or until it rises double in size. Once risen, add the butter, then continue to mix and knead the dough, and transfer to a lightly floured counter. Knead, slap, and fold the dough until smooth, then once it’s not breaking and is stretchy, smooth the dough.
Step 2
Transfer it to an oiled bowl. Cover it again, then set it aside for about 1 hour to rise, and once double in size, de-gas, knead, and reshape into a ball.
Step 3
Lightly flour your work surface, then place the dough with the smooth side down, and roll it out before cutting it like a pizza, into 16 slices. Place a teaspoon slice of butter at the longer end of the sliced dough, then roll it out towards the end, and pinch the ends to seal. Place the dough rolls in a 9×13 inches baking dish or pan greased with butter, then cover them, and set them aside for about 30 minutes. Mix together the egg and milk, then brush it all over the dough rolls.
Step 4
Put them in the preheated oven. Let them bake at 350°F or 180°C for about 18 to 20 minutes, then brush them with melted salted butter before serving.
