Kid-Friendly Coconut Prawns (Freezer-Friendly)

A mild, creamy coconut prawn sauce designed for kids. Freezer-friendly sauce that can be portioned and reheated with fresh prawns. Gently spiced with ginger and warm spices.

Instructions

Step 1
1. Heat oil or butter in a large pot over medium heat.

2. Add ginger and garlic. Cook for 30–45 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned.

3. Add paprika, cumin (if using), cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. Stir for 20–30 seconds.

4. Pour in coconut milk and stir well.

5. Add sugar if using.

6. Simmer gently for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

7. Taste and adjust salt.

8. Cool completely before freezing.

To cook with prawns:

1. Heat 400–450 ml sauce gently (do not boil).

2. Add 480 g raw prawns.
Step 12
3. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until just pink.
Step 13
4. Serve immediately.
