Instructions

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and ghee.
Step 2
Crumble and mix well making sure the flour is moist.
Step 3
Add water and make the dough without kneading. Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
Step 4
To prepare the sugar syrup, add sugar and water to a pan. Add a few threads of saffron and cardamom, and mix well. Boil for 5 minutes or till sugar syrup turns slightly sticky.
Step 5
After the dough has rested for 30 minutes, slightly knead.
Step 6
Portion out the dough, flatten, and make a well in the centre.
Step 7
Deep fry on a low flame until the dough turns golden brown and crisp.
Step 8
Drop them into warm sugar syrup immediately.
Step 9
Coat the badhusha with sugar syrup on both sides and soak for 5 minutes.
