Instructions
Step 1
Add the plain flour, sesame seeds, ground fennel seeds, desiccated coconut, ground almonds, sugar and semolina into a bowl.
Step 2
Stir to combine all the ingredients.
Step 3
Add melted butter and less than 1/4 cup of water.
Step 4
Mix until you get a crumbly texture
Step 5
Then add a little water at a time to form a dough.
Step 6
Knead the dough until smooth.
Step 7
Make small dough balls then flatten them into discs.
Step 8
Carefully flatten the disc on any utensil you can make a pattern on then roll the disc to create a pattern.
Step 9
Repeat the process with the rest of the flatten dough discs.
Step 10
Add oil in a pan.
Step 11
When the oil heats up, add the khajoor in the oil.
Step 12
Fry on medium low heat, turning the khajoor’s regularly until golden brown.
Step 13
Drain excess oil and transfer the khajoor’s onto a kitchen towel.
Step 14
Leave for 5 minutes before serving or transfer into an airtight container to eat later.
