Ingredients

1 poundground beef
1 cupchopped onion
1 cupred pepper
chopped, or green, optional
1 x 28 ouncecan diced tomatoes
1 x 30 ouncecan dark red kidney beans
undrained
1 x 15 ouncecan chili
1 teaspoonsalt
1 tablespoonchili powder
1 tablespoonsugar
2 clovesgarlic
minced, or 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoonpepper
½ cupketchup
Instructions
Step 1
Brown ground beef in a large, heavy pan.
Step 2
Add onions and peppers and cook until tender.
Step 3
Add remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered over low heat for at least 1 hour.
Step 4
Chili can be made the day before and reheated.
