Creamy Cafeteria Noodles

5 steps
Prep:10minCook:15min
Found this on Facebook and thought it looked good. Creamy Cafeteria Noodles: Soft, buttery, super comforting noodles that taste like the best part of school lunch but creamier and better at home. My family loves this one, and my kids are always asking for the “cafeteria noodles,” so it is perfect for a quick, cozy meal with that final creamy stir.

Instructions

Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook until just al dente, about 7 to 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In the same pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook about 30 seconds, or skip this if using garlic powder.
Step 3
Pour in chicken broth, milk, and cream of chicken soup. Whisk until smooth. Stir in Parmesan, onion powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using. Simmer 3 to 4 minutes, stirring, until slightly thickened.
Step 4
Add the cooked noodles back into the pot. Toss gently until every noodle is coated in the creamy sauce. If it looks too thick, splash in a little extra milk or broth.
Step 5
Let sit off the heat 2 to 3 minutes so the sauce clings. Taste and adjust salt and pepper. Sprinkle with paprika or parsley if you like and serve warm.
