Basic Process for Sterilising Jars

Step 1

Heat the oven to 140C/120C fan/gas 1.

Step 2

Wash the jars in hot, soapy water, then rinse well.

Step 3

Place the jars on a baking sheet and put them in the oven to dry completely – this should take around 10 minutes but can vary.

Step 4

If using jars with rubber seals, boil the seals, as dry heat damages them.
