Instructions

Step 1
Cook the potatoes in salted water until tender and drain.
Step 2
Add back to pot and mash with 6 tablespoons of butter and milk until creamy.
Step 3
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet and saute the onions.
Step 4
Add the cabbage and cook over medium heat until softened and season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Add the cabbage to the potatoes along with the bacon.
Step 6
Gently stir to combined and transfer to a baking dish.
Step 7
Top the center with 2 tablespoons butter and keep warm until serving.
