Step 1
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk and egg until smooth. Add the melted butter and combine. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk just until blended and no large lumps remain. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of batter per pancake onto the hot surface. Cook until bubbles form and edges look set, about 1 to 1 1/Half minutes. Flipping cook until golden on the second side about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Serve immediately with butter and warm maple syrup.
